About Exam (SAAT 2011) :

Siksha O Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT 2011), a National Level Entrance Test is conducted by Siksha O Anusandhan University every year to attract young and bright students from different parts of our country. The test will be conducted for different programs offered in different constituent institutes of the University. SAAT 2011, the fourth edition of this entrance test and will be held on 14th May 2011 at 60 centers across 40 cities of India. The test is primarily an objective type written test and the standard of the test is comparable with any other national level entrance test of recognized university. The test is of Optical Mark Reader (OMR) type and all measures are adhered to maintain credibility of the selection process. This University has a special feature such as reservation for women besides SC&ST as per Government norms. Short listed candidates will be called to attend an open counseling for admission into various programs of the University. Another feature of this entrance  test  is that the candidates with diploma in engineering/ technology/ pharmacy and hotel management are eligible for admission into regular courses under lateral entry scheme.

Siksha O Anusandhan University has been declared a deemed to be University U/S 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and is located at Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. There has been persistent endeavour to achieve excellence and carve  a niche in the national and global education map. Some of the constituent institutes have been  established for almost one and half decade and  well known for their academic excellence. This has been corroborated by the assessment of National Accreditation & Assessment Council (NAAC) peer team and the University has been awarded Grade ‘A’, for its overall performance. All the eligible programs have been accredited by National Board Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, Govt. of India. Different faculties of the University have been duly approved by the respective statutory bodies.

Cost & Availability of SAAT 2011 Application Form

Cost of one set of application form & Information Brochure is Rupee 750/- (in person by cash) and Rupee 800/- (by post) by DD drawn in favour of “Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar“, payable at Bhubaneswar.

Eligibility Criteria For MBBS and BDS:

Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2010) or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Schedules Tribes and Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination can be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. As per MCI & DCI guidelines candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For SC / ST and OBC candidates the limit is minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test.

Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 year and the upper age limit is 25 year as on 31.12.2010. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of SC and ST.

Eligibility Criteria For B. Pharm

Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2010) with Physics and Chemistry along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology. ORPass or appearing (in the year 2010) at the final year of Diploma programme in Pharmacy.

Eligibility Criteria For BHMCT

Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2010) in any discipline.

Eligibility Criteria For B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic)

Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2010) with at least 45% marks in aggregate (English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC / ST and OBC candidates only.

Age Limit : The lower age limit is 17 year as on 31.12.2010.

Eligibility Criteria For B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic)

Passed GNM examination, and registered with concerned State Nursing Council. Candidate must be a member of TNAI.

Admission procedure:

The students are admitted through SAAT or any equivalent National level entrance test. All students admitted to the Institute shall have to abide by the rules and regulations of the Institute. Decision of the Institute's authorities in this regard is binding on all students. Students admitted to the Institute have to give an undertaking to the above effect countersigned by the parents / guardian.

Reservation

Seats are reserved for SC, ST and Women as per the UGC norms implemented by Siksha ‘O' Anusandhan University.

FEE Structure for the year 2010-2011:

MBBS : Rs. 22, 50, 000.00 (In five Equal Installments)
1. Hostel Charges:
Hostel Establishment Charges : Rs.26,000/- (Per year)
Facilitation Charges (Per year) : Rs. 6,000/-
Caution Money (Refundable one time) : Rs. 3,000/-
Total Hostel Fees : Rs.35,000/-

1. The mess charges as per actuals shall be paid per month. It may be around Rs.1800/- per month.
2. Institute Caution Money: Rs.5,000/- (one time and refundable) for all programmes.
3. Transportation Charges: The transportation facility is available within the city for which the annual fee charged is  Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only).
4. Registration Fees : Rs.2,000/- per trimester / semester / annual towards examination, for all programmes.
