DUMET 2013 FAQS




Q1. What is the eligibility criteria?

Ans. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

Educational Qualification for admission to MBBS/BDS course: The candidates must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system with required subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised school conducting regular classes and situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 45% marks in case of OBC category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Q2. What is the criteria for reservation of seats?

Ans. The reservation of seats is as follows:

For Delhi students total seats 373  for MBBS/BDS ( Seats filled on the basis of DUMET 2013 score )

  • MBBS (LHMC-98 seats , MAMC-147 seats , UCMS -128 seats)
  • BDS (MAIDS-34 seats )

15% seats are selected directly by the Directorate General of Health Services ( DGHS )  MBBS/BDS ( Seats filled on the basis of DUMET 2013 score )

  • MBBS (LHMC- 22seats , MAMC-27 seats , UCMS -22 seats)
  • BDS (MAIDS-6 seats )

Seats to be filled in by Government of India Nominees for MBBS -36 /BDS- Nil

  • MBBS (LHMC-30 seats , MAMC-6 seats , UCMS- Nil )
  • BDS (MAIDS- Nil )

Note : Other states students are not allowed

Q3. Which all colleges take DUMET?

Ans. MBBS is available in three colleges in University of Delhi which are Lady Harding Medical College, Maulana Azad Medical College and University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital and BDS is available in Maulana Azad Medical College.

Q4. What is the cost of application form?

Ans. The cost of application form BY HAND: for Rs.750/- (` Seven Hundred Fifty only) for General and OBC category candidates and Rs.550/- (` Five Hundred Fifty only) for SC/ST/PH category candidates. BY POST: for Rs.800/- (` Eight Hundred only) for General and OBC category candidates and Rs.600/- (` Six Hundred only) for SC/ST/PH category candidates

Q5. When is the application procedure starting?

Ans. The application procedure starts on 24th of January.

Q6. What is the last date for sale of forms?

Ans. The last date to buy forms by post is 7th of March and 11th of February by post.

Q7. When is the entrance exam?

Ans. The online entrance exam will be held on 22nd May 2013.

Q8. Is it a state level exam or an All-India level exam?

Ans. It is a state level exam

Q9. In whose favour is the DD to be issued?

Ans. DD is to be drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of ‘Registrar, University of Delhi’ payable at Delhi

Q10. Where can the application form be obtained by post?

Ans. The application form can be obtained by post from DeputyRegistrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 7th Floor, V. P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi- 110007
