About Exam
The Nitte University conducts an All India Common Entrance Test (NUUGET 2013) for Under Graduate admission for the purpose of determining the eligibility and Merit inter se, for admission of students to MBBS(#) and BDS Degree in constituent colleges of Nitte University, namely, K S Hegde Medical Academy* and A.B Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences at Deralakatte, Mangalore for the year 2013-12 [*depending on the directives from the Ministry of Health and Family Planning/Medical Council of India ]
The admission under the General merit category will be through the process of centralised single window counselling on the basis of merit(rank) obtained in the All India Entrance Test, NU UGET conducted by Nitte University.
As per the regulations of the statutory bodies, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test to be eligible for admission to the MBBS course shall be 50% for General Category candidates.
Admission under NRI quota is based on merit in the qualifying examination taking into consideration, marks secured in the core subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.Foreign nationals are also considered for admission under this quota.
Students seeking admission under the NRI category should submit a separate application to the college in the prescribed format, available at the University office, Mangalore or from the website www.nitte.edu.in.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who fulfill the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test:
i) A candidate who has passed the Second year Pre – University or 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. However in case of SC/ST candidates it is 40% Candidates whose 10+2 results are not yet announced may also apply. However they shall submit the attested copies of the markscard before 20.6.2013 so that they can be considered for counselling if they have scored more than 50% in the qualifying examinations.
ii) Must be 17 or more years of age as on 31-12-2013.
