Govt's googly: MBBS aspirants in dilemma

Now, single test for MBBS seat : MCI-appointed agency to conduct CETs ”-TOI, March 8
Karnataka to oppose single CET for MBBS “-TOI, March 9
Critical! Contrasting! Confusing!

Such a dramatic news in mid of BOARD EXAMS.Our government deserves a pat for making such a partial and unclear notification. Tuesday morning, the news did hit the thousands of students who are preparing for various medical courses. Some of them are pursuing their +2 and few are droppers…. It means they have endowed their one complete year to prepare for Entrance Tests, they have filled up various forms viz AIIMS 2011, AIPMT 2011, WBJEE 2011, AMU 2011 and etc. The story didn’t end here, today Karnataka state government loudly opposed the thing and finally the dilemma grew more serious.

Several calls were handled by us at Entrance Corner regarding MCI notification till yesterday and today. Students got more worried with the Karnataka State government opposition. Government has no idea about mental pressure of students; it is drawing such irresponsible things at this crucial time. God knows whether it runs or ruins. Even as an Educational Counselor, I have various questions at my mind-

  • Was Government sleeping for last one year?
  • Has it known a student mental pressure?
  • Why the notification is unclear and absurd?
  • Like Karnataka, what if other states also refuse to accept it?

Govt. should be needed to remind that they are playing with career of thousands of students who are future of our country. Nevertheless Karnataka govt. is moving hands in hand with central govt. It says that “The state will now write to the Centre saying that the exam is being thrust upon them without addressing the concerns raised by it with respect to protecting the interest of state students. By making such comments, it only raised the perplexity of Karnataka students also. MCI should need to revise their notification as soon as possible for relaxing the medical aspirants.
