About Exam:
The Karnataka Private Medical Colleges Association (K.P.M.C.A), Karnataka Dental Colleges Association (K.P.D.C.A) & Karnataka Un-aided Private Engineering Colleges Association have in their endeavor to offer a "Single Window" approach to students seeking admissions, have evolved a self-imposed discipline in implementing the verdict of the apex court and have embarked on an endeavor to develop an effective, credible and alternative seat selection process for admissions & have decided to form a "Consortium of Private Medical, Dental & Engineering Colleges" named as 'COMED-K'.
The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students wanting to seek admissions to the Under-Graduate Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses of the Member Institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” COMEDK, has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test.
COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical Dental and Engineering Under-Graduate courses called 'COMEDK UGET ' for candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS and BE.
The entrance test is being conducted for merit determination for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Under-Graduate courses in Member Institutions.
COMEDK 2012 Important Dates
Start date for issue of online application for MBBS/BDS/B.E.: 10th March, 2012
Last date for receipt of completed application forms for MBBS/BDS/B.E.: 10th April, 2012
COMEDK UGET-2012test day (across the state of Karnataka only): 06th May, 2012
Publishing of rank list: 08th June, 2012

COMEDK UGET Eligibilty 2012:
MBBS:
General Merit candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 50% marks in PCB.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 40% marks in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years.
BDS:
General Merit candidates should have passed qualifying exam which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent exam recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject must have passed the subject and individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. All other requirements are same as applicable for General Merit candidates
