Kerala CEE 2011 FAQS

Q1. What is the eligibility criteria?

Ans. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates  who  have  passed  Higher  Secondary  Examination,  Kerala,  or  Examinations  recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks  in  Mathematics,  Physics  and  Chemistry/Computer  Science/Bio-technology/Biology  put  together are eligible for admission.
  • Candidates  who  have  Diploma  in  Engineering  awarded  by  the  Board  of  Technical Examinations,  or  an  examination  recognised  equivalent  thereto,  by  the  State  Board  of  Technical Education after undergoing an  institutional course of at  least 3 years, securing a minimum  of  50% marks  in  the  final Diploma  Examination  are  eligible  for  admission  to  the  special reservation quota (DE).
  • Candidates  who  have  passed  Higher  Secondary  Examination,  Kerala,  or  examinations  recognised as equivalent  thereto, with 50 % marks  in Mathematics/Biology  separately, and  50  %  marks  in  Physics,  Chemistry  and  Mathematics/Biology  put  together  are  eligible  for  admission to the seats reserved for Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department  for B.Tech. (D.Sc. & Tech). However, the candidates admitted to the course have to take a make  up  course  in  Basic Mathematics  (2+0)  credits  or  Applied  Biology  (1+1)  credit  as  the  case may be.

Q2. What is the minimum age limit?

Ans. Applicants  should  have  completed  17  years  of  age as  on  the  31st  December  2011. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.

Q4. What is the exam pattern?

Ans. The exam pattern is as follows:

  • The Entrance Examinations  for Engineering and Medical/Agricultural courses will be conducted separately, each test with a relative weightage  of  5:3:2  in Biology,Physics  &  Chemistry  in  Medical Entrance Examination
  • Candidates  who  wish  to  be  considered  ONLY  for  Medical  Courses [MBBS & BDS] will  have  to  write  Paper  I  -  Physics  &  Chemistry  and  Paper  -  II  Biology  of  the Medical Entrance Examination.

Q5. Is there any negative marking in the exam?

Ans. Yes, there is negative marking in the exam.

Q6. What is the application fee?

Ans. The application fee for all candidates will be as follows:

Q7. What is the application procedure?

Ans. The application procedure is as follows:

  • · Availability of Application Forms: Application  form and Prospectus can be obtained  from  selected Post Offices  in Kerala and  outside  the  State
  • Candidates who do not claim  any  reservation  benefit  and  those belonging  to Non-Keralite category can apply  Online through  the  website  www.cee-kerala.org.On  successful submission,  an  Application  Number will  be  generated, which may  be  noted  down  for  any future correspondence with the Office of the CEE. Candidates are required to take printout of the application form. Candidates can remit the application fee for Rs.700/-in any of the branches of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) using the Chalan contained in the printout of the application  form.  The  original  Chalan  shall  be  attached  with  the  application  form  duly signed  and  authorized  by  the  State  Bank  of  Travancore  authorities  on  remittance  of application  fees.  They  should  affix  recent  passport  size  photograph  duly  attested  by  a competent  Gazetted  Officer/Head of  the  school  and  obtain  nativity  certificate,  course certificate and income certificate in the printout of the Application form itself.
  • Candidates who do not have access to State Bank of Travancore (SBT) can attach  a  Demand  Draft  for  Rs.700/-  drawn  on  a  Nationalized  Bank

Q8. In whose favour is the DD to be drawn?

Ans. The DD should be drawn in favour of: Commissioner for Entrance Examinations payable at Thiruvananthapuram, as application fee along with  the  application  form  (Application Number  and Name  should  be written  on  the back of the Demand Draft).

Q9. For what amount should the DD be drawn?

Ans. The DD should be drawn for Rs. 700
