KLE-AIET 2010 Eligibility criteria

Eligibility for appearing in KLEU-AIET – 2010 & subsequent admission

Common Eligibility Requirements for admission to MBBS/BDS: Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the relevant eligibility requirements for admission to a course will be considered eligible to appear for the KLEU All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET – 2010) & subsequently for admission to that course.

Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before the first day of December 2010.

Qualifications:

i) The candidate seeking admission to any of these courses should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination PUC II / HSC or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2/HSC examination of any recognized Board/University from any School/College situated in India/Abroad after 12 years of study.

ii) The candidate should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually & must have obtained atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the qualifying examinations i.e., PUC II/10+2 / HSC or equivalent. The candidate should also have secured atleast 50% min Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together at KLEU-AIET – 2010 for admission to BDS course.

iii) For candidates seeking admission to MBBS course, the candidate should have scored minimum 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. i.e. XIIth /PUC II/ 10+2/ HSC / equivalent examination. The candidate should also have scored 50% marks in English language in the qualifying exam. Those of the candidates who have appeared for XIIth / PUC II/ 10+2 / HSC / equivalent examination and are awaiting for their results may appear for entrance exam; however their admission to MBBS course, irrespective of their rank in KLEU-AIET-2010, is subject to their procuring of minimum 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and 50% marks in English in the qualifying examination i.e. XIIth

iv) Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e., PUC II/10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for KLEU-AIET-2010, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examination. / PUC II/ 10+2 / HSC / equivalent examination.

v) The candidates who have passed class XIIth /PUC-II/10+2/HSC/ equivalent examination earlier than 2008 are not eligible for applying to KLEU-AIET-2010.

vi) The seats which are reserved for SC/ST candidates are only for those candidates belonging to SC/ST category of Karnataka state only. vi) Eligibility criteria for students belonging to SC/ST category will be in accordance with rules framed by respective regulating councils.
