GCET 2012 (Goa Common entrance test 2012)

About Exam:

A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for the candidates seeking admission to first year degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture in various colleges in Goa. Admission to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA).

Eligibility:

MBBS, BDS, BHMS

The candidate must pass 10+2 examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized board, with a minimum of 50% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry in aggregate, along with English in a single attempt. In case of SC/ST and OBC candidates, minimum of 40% marks is sufficient.

Reservation of seats :

  • Total number of seats for MBBS-100 / BDS-40
  • For Goa students seats for MBBS/BDS : 85/34 seats reserved ( Based on GCET 2012 score )
  • For other states students seats for MBBS/BDS : 15/6 seats reserved ( Based on GCET 2012 score )
  • 50% - ( SC/ST/OBC) , 33% -( Women ) , 16.66% -( PH )

a)  GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test)2012 for admissions to First Year of Professional Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, architecture and Homeopathy in the State of Goa shall be conducted in the First week of May 2012 as per the following schedule at 10 centres in Goa:

b)  Question paper shall be of objective, multiple-choice  type containing 75 questions of 1 mark each, with no negative marking.
c)  GCET 2012 shall be based on syllabus prescribed by Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim for Std. XII th examination of March, 2012 in the above subjects.
B)  G2CET-2012 (Common Entrance Test for Direct 2 nd  Year)
a)  G2CET-2012 (for Diploma and B. Sc. Degree holders) for direct admissions to  Second Year Degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy shall be conducted in the second week of May 2012. There shall be a single paper comprising of 100 objective, multiple choice type questions, carrying 1 mark each, with no negative marking.
Separate Prospectuses containing complete details of GCET and G2CET, with application forms shall be made available for reference in January, 2012 on the website www.dtegoa.gov. in and print version in March 2012.  Specific dates and locations of availability will be duly notified.
