Admission Notification

Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS) has been established by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) with the aim of providing quality medical education to the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible Ex-Army personnel and war widows/widows of the Army. Students would be encouraged to join Armed Forces Medical Services after completion of the course. The Fourth academic session will commence with effect from 1st Aug 2011.

Location:

The ACMS is located near Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt (BHDC), opposite Brar Square on the Ring Road between Dhaula Kuan and Naraina. The College is well connected to all parts of Delhi and easily accessible by public transport.

Campus:

A state of-the-art new College building with all modern facilities is available. The College complex has aesthetically designed buildings, green landscaping and a striking ambience.

Hostel Facility:

The College has hostel facilities and stay in the hostel is mandatory. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls with experienced wardens to ensure efficient functioning. The students will be provided with all facilities in the hostel to make them feel ‘at home’ so that they can focus on Academics.

Number of seats:

There are 100 seats for MBBS programme at ACMS. The allotment of seats will be made strictly on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the IPU CET 2011 Stage II: MBBS 2011 conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU).

Eligibility Criteria:

The admission to the ACMS is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible Ex Army personnel and war widows/widows of the Army. The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to ACMS at the time of Counseling/Admission:

(a) The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army.

(ii) Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, family pension, liberalized family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge or Release/ Invalidment Medical Board. This includes children of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.

(iii) Children of Ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or been released after ten years of service

(b) Adopted /Step children and children of Remarried Widows:

(i) Adopted Children of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.

(ii) Step children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army and who is otherwise eligible.

(c) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:

(i) Children of Army Medical/Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Navy or Air Force who have served in the Army for at least 10 years.

(ii) Children of APS personnel classified as Ex-servicemen as per Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence, letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dt 19 Jul 89.

(iii) Children of APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.

(iv) Children of APS personnel who are directly recruited into APS & completed 10 years of service and who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.

(v) Children of members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.

(vi) Children of TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

Important Instructions for Candidates seeking admission in ACMS:

(a) It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualifications for admission. However, having been called for Written test or Counseling does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility. Final eligibility for admission will be decided by the ACMS at the time of Counseling and also later during the scrutiny of documents by the University. If a candidate is found to be ineligible at any time before or after the commencement of course, the College reserves the right to cancel his/her candidature without any refund of the fees/charges paid.

(b) Additional Documents required to be produced in Original along with a photocopy at the time of Counseling/Admission:-

(i) Proof of eligible category.

(ii) Willingness Certificate.

(c) It is clarified that the Candidates eligible for admission in ACMS as per above criteria must darken only the ‘Yes’ circle in Column 25 of the Application Form.

(d) Children of Paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, Assam Rifles, GREF and DSC are not eligible for the admission in ACMS.

Fee Structure:

* The College is further allowed to charge Rs. 1000/- per student per annum as Students Activity Fee and Rs. 5000/-per student (One time payment-Refundable) as Security Deposit over and above the total Fee payable between 1st to 7th Sep 2011. Admitted students shall further pay their Hostel Fee & Security as charged by the College. If the fee is revised at any time during the course duly approved by State Fee Regulatory Committee, students will be required to pay at the revised rates.

Important Notes:

1. All the students who are admitted shall be required to pay the full fee at the time of Counseling. The fee shall be payable in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, GGSIPU, Delhi, payable at Delhi. It is clarified that the fee will not be accepted in the form of cash/cheque. Further, no request for deposition of part payment of the fee shall be entertained, under any circumstances. The admission slip will only be issued after the deposition of full fee.

2. If any candidate fails to deposit the full fee, the seat will be offered to next candidate in the order of merit and for this the candidate himself/herself shall be solely responsible.

3. During the 4 ½ years course of MBBS (total 9 semesters) fee will be charged on annual basis i.e. for 2 semesters each. However for 9th semester, 50% of the annual fee shall be charged.
