IPU CET 2011 Admission Notification

In 2011, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will conduct IPU CET of MBBS Programme for admission in the Institutions as details below:-

(i) Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjang Hospital ( VMMC&S 2011)

(ii) Army College Of Medical Sciences (ACMS 2011)

Common Entrance Test: Programme Code 25 [IPU CET : MBBS 2011]

• All the candidates who are keen to seek admission to MBBS programme at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College,Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi and Army College of Medical Sciences, Delhi Cantt. for the Academic Session 2011-12 must appear in the Common Entrance Test : Code 25 [IPU CET:MBBS 2011], which will be conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector-16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075.
  
  
• There will be two stages of the Common Entrance Test. Only qualified candidates of Stage I will be allowed to appear in Stage II Entrance Test of MBBS.
  
  
• The IPU CET: MBBS 2011 (Stage I) is proposed to be conducted at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Jallandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Dehradun, Hissar, Shimla and Moradabad. However, depending upon the number of candidates at any station, the final venue of the IPU CET: MBBS  2011 (Stage I) will be communicated to the candidates through Admit Cards.

MBBS (Stage II) test will be held only at Delhi. In case of any query, candidate may contact on 011-25302287.

The venue of the Common Entrance Test (Stage I) Code: 25 along with the Centres Codes have been indicated in the table given below. The candidates are advised to indicate in the Application Form their two preferred choices in respect to the places in order of his/her preference. The choices indicated by the candidates shall however, be considered as their 'preferred choices'. The actual centre code will be allotted by the University and the same shall be considered as final.Neither any change in the preferences already indicated by the candidate shall be allowed by the University nor any correspondence in this regard will be entertained under any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality

Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are not eligible.

Age

Candidate should be of 17 (Seventeen) years as on the 31st December, 2011.

Essential Qualifications

Candidate should have passed the 12th Class under the 10+2 Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent examination of the recognized University/Board of any Indian State with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY and ENGLISH (Core or Elective or Functional).

Minimum Aggregate

Candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% in case of SC/ST candidates, subject to availability of seat for these categories in the respective institutions).

Notes:

(a) All those candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) and expect to pass the examination with required percentage of marks are also eligible to apply and appear in the IPU CET 2011.

However, their candidature will be considered only if they are able to produce documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying examination with the required subjects and percentage of marks at the time of counseling for admission.

(b) It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they posses the requisite eligibility and qualifications for admission. Appearing for the written examination does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility.

(c) There will be no rounding-off of the percentage of marks of qualifying examination while deciding the basic eligibility of any candidate for admission for e.g. if a candidate obtained 49.9% marks in his/her qualifying examination, then it will not be rounded off to 50%. Therefore, the candidate is not eligible for that programme where minimum requirement of marks is 50%. In case candidate for any reason fills the minimum% wrongly in verification form, he/she shall be exclusively responsible.

(d) The cases of candidates who have qualified IPU CET 2011, but have Compartment/Supplementary in any paper of the qualifying examination degree at any stages, will be considered by the Admission Officer as per University policy and accordingly he shall take final decision regarding grant of admission to such candidates during academic session 2011-12 as per University policy given below:

(i) Compartment/Supplementary cases at any stage who have appeared for examination(s) and the result of the same is/are not declared by the time of counseling/admission, such candidates will not be considered for admission for the academic session 2011-12.

(ii) In case the result of the Compartment/Supplementary examination(s) is/are declared by the time of admission/counseling and the candidate fulfills the eligibility conditions as mentioned above, then such candidates would be eligibile for the admission for the academic session 2011-12.

Exam Pattern of IPU CET: MBBS 2011

Both the Stages of the Common Entrance Test : 25 [IPU CET : MBBS -2011] will be of 3 hours duration and will have One Question Paper in English medium. This Question Paper shall have 200 objective type (multiple choice) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked as (1), (2), (3) and (4). Out of these, only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the OMR answer sheet. Each question shall carry 3 marks, which shall be awarded for each correct answer.

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. Incorrect answers will include both the 'wrong answers' as well as 'more than one answer to a question'. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Candidates should bring a black ball point pen to the Examination Hall for writing/marking responses (darkening the ovals) on OMR answer sheet. Use of pencil is not allowed.

No requests for re-checking, re-evaluation, reassessment or scrutiny of OMR answer sheet will be entertained.

For those who are unable to appear in the test on the scheduled date for any reason, retest will not be held by the University under any circumstances. No refund of fee is permissible.

General Standard Of The Question Paper Of IPU CET: MBBS 2011

The level of questions will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. Syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) shall be as specified by CBSE for class 11th and 12th under 10+2 scheme for students passing class 12th in the year 2011.

● An application on plain paper, addressed to the Joint Registrar (Academic) requesting to issue Admission Brochure-III (MBBS Programme). The application should clearly mention the name and the address of the applicant.

● A Demand Draft of Rs.1100/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred only) drawn in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the back side of the Demand Draft/Pay Order.

● A self-addressed envelope of size not less than 24cm x 30cm.

Notes :

i) The request must reach the University Office latest by 6th April, 2011. The amount once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

ii) The envelope of the application requesting for the issuance of Admission Brochure-III must be superscribed at the left-top corner as "REQUEST FOR ADMISSION BROCHURE-III (MBBS PROGRAMMES ) FOR THE SESSION 2011-12".

iii) The University will not be responsible for the delay, loss or damage, if any, (during the transit) of the Application/Demand Draft/Pay Order for issuance of Admission Brochure and for the Admission Brochure after its dispatch from the University.

Jurisdiction of Courts

Any dispute in regard to any matter referred to herein will be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM:

The applicants are advised to retain a photocopy of the duly filled-in Application Form before the same is submitted to the University.

SUBMISSION BY HAND/POST

The Application Form complete in all respects in the sealed printed envelope given along with Admission Brochure - III, should be submitted by hand at the University counter or it may be sent by Registered/Speed Post to the

Note:

After the last date is over, application form sent through Registered /Speed Post/Courier or by any other means will not be accepted, irrespective of the fact when the form was despatched/posted. Therefore, candidates are advised to submit their applications at the earliest, instead of waiting for the last date.

Display of Information on the University's Website regarding receipt of Application Forms for Common Entrance Test : Programme CODE 25 [IPU CET : MBBS  2011]

(i) On 02.05.2011 at 5.00 p.m. the details of Application Forms received by the Office of the Controller of Examinations upto the last date i.e. 25th April, 2011 will be displayed on the University Website (www.ipu.ac.in). The candidates are advised to check their status with the help of serial number indicated on the Application Form.

(ii) In case any candidate, who has submitted the application form either by post or in-person, does not find his/her application form number on the University's Website, then he/she is advised to contact the Office of Controller of Examinations, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, immediately (but not later than 04.05.2011) alongwith the relevant particulars (photocopy of the duly filled-in CET Application Form and proof of its delivery to the University). In case of any query, candidate may contact on 011-25302287.

Do NOT attach any document (copies of certificates, mark-sheets etc.) with the IPU CET 2011 Application Form.

Write the complete address by giving your name and Pin Code carefully and legibly. Please note that this address will be used by the University for all the correspondence in future. Therefore, it should be very clearly written with black ball point pen only. The address should be properly filled up in the prescribed boxes and should not overflow. The University will not be responsible for any loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the applicant in the Application Form. No request for change of address will be entertained till the admission is finalized.
