The Annamalai University is a unitary, teaching, and residential university. It was founded by the munificence of the farsighted and noble hearted philanthropist and patron of letters the late Honorable Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad, Kt, LL.D., D.Litt. He started several colleges, and ultimately, the University in 1929. Since its inception, it has progressively tried to realize the aims of the noble Founder Pro-Chancellor.
Applications are invited for Admission to the following programmes for the Academic Year 2011 - 2012
01. M.B.B.S. - Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery
02. B.D.S. - Bachelor of Dental Surgery
Eligibility Criteria for Annamalai University 2011(TNPCEE):
Any candidate who is a Citizen of India with the following Academic Qualification can apply:
Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of Tamil Nadu with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes are however eligible if they have 40% aggregate marks taken together in the Physics, Chemistry and Biology and have passed the examination in those subjects as well as in English.

Age Limit: For MBBS / BDS, the candidates should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2011.
Candidates who wish to apply for MBBS/BDS will have to appear compulsorily for the Common Entrance Examinations conducting by the University which is to be held on 8th May 2011.
Cost of Application Form- Rs.1000/- for M.B.B.S. & B.D.S.

How to Apply: Application form and Prospectus can be obtained from THE REGISTRAR, ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY, ANNAMALAINAGAR - 608 O02 from the date scheduled above on payment of prescribed fee noted above in person.

By sending a Demand Draft obtained on or after 06.04.2011 drawn in favor of THE REGISTRAR, ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY, ANNAMALAINAGAR from ANY BANK, payable at CHENNAI along with self addressed stamped Thick Kraft envelope of size 30 cm x 24 cm (stamps affixed to the value of Rs. 30/-) with the name of the Programme for which the application is required should be super scribed boldly on the envelope. The Name of the Programme should be clearly indicated in the requisition letter. The Name and Address of the Candidate and Programme for which the application is made should be clearly indicated on the back side of the Demand Draft also.
Issue of Application form in the University Cash Counter: ONLY DURING WORKING DAYS.
Note: The University will not be held responsible for any Postal delay. Applications received after the due date will not be entertained under any circumstances. Hence, the candidates are advised to submit their application well in advance.
