1880 students qualify in pre-medical test

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday declared the results of the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2010. This year, 1,880 students have qualified, scoring between 450 and 361 marks in the entrance exam. Those who rank between 1,881 and 3,760 have been put on the waiting list.

The examination was conducted in two stages — preliminary and final. Of the 1,56,518 aspirants in the preliminary stage, 14,217 qualified for the final round held on May 16. AIPMT is conducted for admission to various medical and dental colleges. Fifteen per cent of all seats in government medical and dental colleges are reserved for AIPMT candidates.
Counselling will be conducted via video-conferencing and personally in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. The seats in medical colleges will be allotted by the directorate general of health services, ministry of health and family welfare, according to rank in the counselling category and not the all-India ran.
