Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur (Formerly, Bhagalpur Medical College Bhagalpur) was founded in the year 1971 under the management of Dept. of Health, Medical education and F.W,Govt. of Bihar. The college is affiliated to Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University , Bhagalpur (Formerly, Bhagalpur university, Bhagalpur ). Fifty students are admitted annually before 31st July and classes are taken from 1st August. The process of admission is completed before 30th September every year. Admissions are done by selection of candidates through a two phase combined medical Entrance examination test, which is common to all medical colleges of the state. I.Sc. or equivalent qualifying is the minimum requirement for appearing in the Entrance Examination. The courses of study and the examination system, as proscribed by the university to which the college is affiliated is broadly in conformity with the recommendations of the Medical Council of India, New Delhi
