B.J. Medical College, (BJMC) Pune is one of the premier medical institutions in Maharashtra and India. The college, administered by the Government of Maharashtra, comprises various clinical and para/pre-clinical departments working alongside the Sassoon General Hospitals. The college has an illustrious past and many alumni have excelled in medicine (in India and abroad) as well as in arts (drama, literature, cinema) and politics. It has been ranked among the Top 10 Medical Colleges in India in a 2009 survey.

B.J. Medical School started in 1878, which was converted to full-fledged B.J.Medical College in 1946.This year B.J. is celebrating its diamond jubilee.

B J Medical College offers 5.5 years bachelor's degree courses in MBBS. Admission to this course is made through a merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the candidates in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) . In this course the reservation available to different reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC is as per the Government of India n
