With increased demand of doctors for increasing population, the West Bengal thought to make a medical college in district of Paschim Midnapur, in this respect the Midnapur Sadar Hospital was consider to be converted to Midnapur medical College with necessary extension, alteration and additional construction. Since 2003 with enormous effort of the Govt of W.B, the faculties. medical officers, the staffs of categories and the people of Midnapur, the first batch of student were admitted in first year MBBS course, in August 2004, under the West Bengal University of Health Science, with the permission of Medical Council of India, New Delhi. Since 2005, every year the College is progressively improving in all facets of development and reached a prestigious shape enriched with modern equipments, specialized departments, faculties and facilities for the service of the people. Location of the college is almost in the heart of the Midnapur town, about four kilometers away from the railway station.
