The 14th day of April 1990 will remain as land mark in the history of field of dentistry of state of Bihar in particular, and nation as whole for, it was on this very auspicious day of birth centenarary year of Bharat Ratna Late Baba-Saheb Ambedkar the Institute took it’s inception as a mark of memory and tribute to the great soul, who dedicated his life for the welfare & upliftment of poor and down trodden of the society. The institute being the first of it’s kind in the north-east region of the country, imparting vocational training in field of Dentistry under the banner of Late Baba - Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the great humanist, the pioneer of Indian freedom and the architect of modern India. The Institute is being Managed by Gautam Educational & Welfare Society, a Buddhist Minority Society registered under Society Registration Act 21,1860 as well as by Governing Council, Represented by galaxy of educationists and dedicated persons of social and religious fields.

we in our department strive to achieve the following goals Provide quality service and efficent oral health care Prepare graduates as future clinicians in Orthodontics and Philosophically dedicate ourselves to foster a strong educational background in the subject both clinically and with the recent research methodologies to excel in patient care decisions and formulate a treatment plan based on principles and procedures that have both biological significance and clinical relevance. Patients accepted for treatment in the orthodontic clinic are allotted to staff & students appropriately. Each student treats approximately 40-50 cases comprising a wide variety of treatment modalities including interdisciplinary approaches.

Screening patients requiring orthognathic surgery and conducting discussions and interact sessions with the department of Oral surgery for these patients to define the treatment need and the treatment plan for both Orthodontics and Surgical plan is a part of the routine coordinated treatment protocol. Treatment of patients with a variety of craniofacial anomalies predominantly the cleft lip and palate patients are coordinated through a team work. Appropriate orthodontic care is insituted to optimize the results in an efficient manner
