The M.P. Shah Medical college was established in 1954 by the erstwhile ruler of Jamnagar, Shri Digvijaysinhji with generous donations by the descendants of Shri Meghji Pethraj Shah. With an intake capacity of 175 seats per year it caters to the medical education needs of Saurashtra. It is affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot.

1.

The admission process starts after declaration of the Higher Secondary stream results of Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board.

The price of the Admission form is Rs. 50.00







3.

(a) Qualifying examination for admission is Higher Secondary Certificate Examination(Science Stream or post basic stream) under the 10+2 education pattern conducted by the Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board or Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi taking Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English from any of the recognized institutions located in Gujarat state in case of the above mentioned Boards/Councils in the month of April/May of the current year or supplementary examination of the preceding year.







(b) Sons and Daughters of the All India Services Officers viz. Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Forest Service allotted to Gujarat State and serving outside Gujarat State on deputation shall be treated at par with the candidate of the Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board, if they have passed the qualifying examination of the respective state board or with the candidates of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, if they have passed their qualifying examination from any other Board, or with the candidates of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi, if they passed the qualifying examination from the Councils.







(c) Sons and Daughters of Gujarat Government Servants who have been posted outside Gujarat State for administrative reasons will also be considered under the category-(b) mentioned above.







(d) Candidate passing the qualifying examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi from any institution located in Gujarat State shall be admitted to Medical/Dental/Physiotherapy Colleges on pro-rata basis.







(e) Only Indian citizens shall be considered eligible for admission to the Government Medical/Dental/Physiotherapy Colleges and Self financing colleges for these courses in the state. However those candidates who are born outside India or are not citizens of India shall have to produce the proof of submitting the application for acquiring Indian citizenship before the date of interview.







Those candidates who are residents of Gujarat State but have studied in schools located in any of the Union territories adjacent to Gujarat, i.e. Diu, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli an possess the required qualification are also eligible for admission.
