The foundation-stone of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College was laid by Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister in October, 1996. However, the College started functioning in March 1997 when the staff was posted there. The Medical College was accorded permanent recognition by the Medical Council of India (MCI) Team in the year 2004. Spread over an area of spacious campus of 46 hectares of land, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government College and Hospital is located amidst sylvan surroundings with a rural ambiance located in Nagrota Bagwan tehsil has been provided strong road connectivity both from Kangra and Pathankot-Mandi national highway.
