NEIGRIHMS 2012 Notification

NEIGRIHMS is an Autonomous Institute established by Government of India in 1987 under the Meghalaya Registration of Societies Act 1983. The then Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi dedicated the Institute to the memory of Late Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister for her commitment to the welfare and affection for the people of North Eastern Region. It has now been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in the lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh. NEIGRIHMS has been the First and the only Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and third in the country established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

M.B.B.S COURSE
The duration of the course is 4 years and 6 months as per the Academic Calendar of Medical Council of India (MCI), followed by 1 year compulsory rotary internship.

AFFILIATION
The course is under affiliation of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong

Minimum Qualification

The Applicant should be a Resident Indian National and belong to the 8 states of North Eastern Region of India including Sikkim.
The Applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years.
He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2012, the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S.
The applicant should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:

a. The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

b. The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology at the qualifying examination.

Sale of Prospectus	12th March 2012 to 12th April 2012 (Monday to Friday except government holidays)
Last date of submission of duly completed application forms bought from the Counter or downloaded	20th April 2012 before 4:30 p.m
Issue of Admit Card	18th June 2012 onwards
Issue of Duplicate Admit Card	20th and 21st July 2012
Date of examination	22nd July 2012
Results	On or before 24th July 2012
1st Counseling and Admission	27th July 2012, 10 a.m onwards
2nd Counseling and Admission (if required)	17th August 2012, 10 a.m onwards
Commencement of Classes	1st august 2012

APPLICATION FORMS SUBMISSION

1.Duly filled up application forms can be drop in at Box placed outside the Examination Cell, Director’s Block, NEIGRIHMS on or before 20^th April,2012 at 4:30 p.m addressed to “Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS, Director’s Block, P.O.-Mawdiangdiang, Shilong-793018”.

2. Forms can also be sent by post addressed to “Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS, Director’s Block, P.O.-Mawdiangdiang, Shilong-793018” and reach by April,2012 at 4:30 p.m

All envelopes enclosing application forms should be superscribed as- “APPLICATION FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, NEIGRIHMS-2012”.
