Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT) - a National Level Entrance
Test will be conducted by Siksha 'O' Anusandhan - Deemed to be University every year
for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the University.
The test is being conducted for different programs offered in different constituent
institutes of the University. SAAT-2012, the fifth edition of this entrance test and will be
held on 12th May 2012 (Saturday) at 60 centers across 42 cities of India. The Test is
primarily a objective multiple choice type test and is at par with the standard of the test
of other national level entrance tests. The University abides by the Government policies
on reservation for admission of women, physical disabled and SC/ST candidates. Short
listed candidates are required to attend an open counselling for admission into various
programmes of the University. Also, candidates with diploma in engineering/
technology/ pharmacy and hotel management are eligible for admission into regular
courses under lateral entry scheme through SAAT-2012.

Eligibility Criteria For MBBS and BDS:
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Schedules Tribes and Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination can be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. As per MCI & DCI guidelines candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For SC / ST and OBC candidates the limit is minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test.
Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 year and the upper age limit is 25 year as on 31.12.2012. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of SC and ST.
Availability of Application Form
a) Application Form & Information Brochure of SAAT–2012 can be obtained in Person / by Post
from the SOA University, Khandagiri Square, Bhubaneswar - 751030. Forms are also
available at different countersoftheconstituentinstitutesoftheuniversity.
b) Application form & information brochure of SAAT–2012 can also be obtained from designated
branches of Axis Bank, Syndicate Bank and Punjab National Bank (enlisted in AppendixXVII).
c) Application form & information brochure of SAAT-2012 is available at www.soauniversity.ac.in. The
candidate can take print out of application form , fill it up neatly and send it by Post/courier alongwith
a Demand Draft of a 750/- drawn in favour of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY,
Bhubaneswar, PayableatBhubaneswar.
d) Cost of one set of application form & information brochure is a 750/- (in person by cash) and a
800/- by post in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN
UNIVERSITY, Bhubaneswar, Payable at Bhubaneswar.
Instruction for filling up Application form
a) Please note down the six-digit application number for future reference. Read the instructions carefully
before filling up the application form. Refer to the sample filled in application form provided in this
brochure.
b) First write in capital letters the required information in rectangular boxes above the circles (wherever
provided) and then darken the appropriate circle underneath each letter. What you write in these boxes
is only for your guidance and for verification that you are darkening the correct circle.
c) The application form will be processed on OMR. Therefore, darken the circles carefully using HB pencil
or blue / black ball pen only. Please see the illustration on the application form to learn how to darken
the circles.
d) If you wish to change a marking, erase the darkened circle completely and then darken the
appropriate circle. This is possible if you are using a pencil.
Otherwise, you can use white correction fluid for covering the wrongly darkened circle.e) Do not
scribble, smudge, cut, tear, or wrinkle the application form. Do not put any stray marks any where on
the application form.
f) Do not write or mark on the Barcodes.
g) Your photograph, signature and address are to be scanned by machine that recognizes only good
quality images, and from the specified areas of the form. Therefore paste a good black and white
photograph taken not more than two months earlier, and write your address and sign in black / blue ball
pen only.
h) Please note that your name, your parents' / guardian's name and your date of birth should exactlybe
the same as in your High school or your first Board / Pre-University examination certificate.
Deviation, if any whenever discovered, may lead to cancellation of your candidature.i) Your
application must be complete in all aspects. Incomplete application or application filled in a
language other than English will be summarily rejected.
j) Options filled by you in the application form can not be changed at a later stage.
k) It is suggested that you make a photocopy of the application form before filling and use that
firstforpractice.
l)No reservation norms are applicable for Lateral Entry(LE)admissions.
Name of the Candidate:
(Item - 1) - Write your name in CAPITAL LETTERS as given in your original certificate of the High School
or equivalent examination in Black / Blue ball pen. Write a single letter in each box. Within any one part
of your name, do not leave any blank box. Leave one and only one blank box between any two parts of
the name. If your name has several initials leave one blank after each of them. If it requires more than
35 boxes abbreviate the middle name(s). Darken the appropriate circle under each letter of the name.
Reservation :
(Item - 2) - Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/PH/WO/ MC category and seeking admission
under reservation are required to darken the appropriate circles. Women candidates should darken the
corresponding circle. General candidates are required to darken the corresponding circle. No reservation
normsapplyforlateralentry.OBC/SEBC
candidates are eligible only for mark relaxation in qualifying examination.
